Where to hide

I pray to the sage Vyasa, son of Parasara, the composer of the great Epic. The one who has a blue hue in his body and has matted locks on his head. Clad in tiger skin, his eyes glow with knowledge. The one who composed the Vedas and the story of Krishna. Kasidasa bows down to this great sage.

Janmajeya said I have heard that the Pandavas lived for a year in the kingdom of Virata. Please tell me what happened there.

Vaishampayana said The Pandavas lived for twelve years in the forest. One day Yudhistira called the priest Dhaumya and the sages and said You all know that for twelve years we had to stay in the forest and go hiding for a year. If we are spotted in that year we will have to start the twelve year cycle again, Do tell us which is the place where we should stay.
Bhima said O King, we are with you and will follow you wherever you take us.

The sages said Yudhistira, this is the time to be calm and patient. Come tomorrow and we will have a solution.

The sages asked the Pandavas to go towards Virata. They walked till they were tired. Yudhistira asked Arjuna to pick up Draupadi on his shoulders. Soon they spotted the gates of the kingdom of Virata.  Yudhistira said If they entered the city armed, they would be suspected.

Arjuna said he could see a big Shami tree. It had many branches and the weapons could be hidden in that tree.
The weapons were hidden there. Then taking names Jay, Vijay, Jayanta, Jayatesena and Jayadwal they entered the city of Virata.
