Bhagwad Gita - Chapter 13

Krishna said - This body is called the field.   What am I telling you has been told many times earlier by the great seers.  Absence of vanity, abstaining from injury, forgiveness, devotion towards God, purity,  indifference to objects of sense, absence of ego, freedom from attachment is Knowledge. This leads to immortality.  The Supreme Brahma with no beginning or end is in the hearts of all.  My devotees knowing this, become one with me. Nature and Spirit are both without beginning  and all qualities spring from Nature. Nature is said to be the source of the capacity of enjoying pleasures and pains. For Spirit, dwelling in nature enjoys the qualities of Nature. The Supreme person in the body is said to be  the Supreme Soul.
He who knows Spirit, and Nature, with the qualities is never born again. Some by meditation realize the self; some by devotion  and others by devotion to works. Whatever comes into existence is from the connection of this field. He sees the Supreme Lord dwelling alike in all beings.  He sees  all actions to be brought about by nature alone in every way and the soul is not the doer. When one sees  entities as existing in one,  then is one said to attain salvation.  As the single Sun lights up the entire world, the spirit lights up the person. They that, by the eye of knowledge, know the distinction between matter and spirit, and the deliverance from the nature of all entities, attain to the Supreme
