Arjuna goes to conquer kings

Arjuna said to Yudhistira that he wanted to help in the Rajyasuya sacrifice. He said he would help conquer kings and take their acceptance. Yudhistira permitted Arjuna to do so. Arjuna marched off, on his chariot, with his Gandiva and an army following him.

Arjuna fought and won over some kings. In his journey he landed in the kingdom of Pragjyotish. This was ruled by Bhagdatta. A fight ensued between the two. For eight days the fight continued till Bhagdatta said he was pleased with Arjuna's skills. He said his family had been friends with Pandu and wanted to know why Arjuna wanted the fight. Arjuna said he had come in behalf of Yudhistira and wanted the king to accept the allegiance of Yudhistira. The king agreed.

Arjuna continued his journey. Defeated many kings and winning over many, he reached the kingdom of Trigarta. It was wonderful land with multi colored horses and parrots, the color of peacocks. Arjuna fought and won over the king.

Arjuna then went to Kailasha. Kubera ruled there. Arjuna fought with Yakshas of Kubera and won over the yakshas.

From there Arjuna went to the lake Mansarovar. North of that he reached the land of Harivarsha. The guards rushed towards Arjuna with iron maces. They said humans do not come here. They said he would not be able to see anything there. Arjuna said he would not enter their land if they gave him wealth for Yudhistira. The guards gave him a lot of wealth which Arjuna took.

Having completed his journey, Arjuna started southwards towards Indraprastha.

Krishna hearing of Arjuna's return, also started from Dwaraka towards Indraprastha.

Yudhistira welcomed Krishna and told him he was now ready for the Rajsuya sacrifice.
