Sanjaya said to Dhritarashtra - All is gone among the Kauravas. The Pandavas have sucked out the strength of the Kauravas.
Duryodhana roamed around with his mace in his hand, wondering who else was there to support him.
Seeing Duryodhana in this state, Sanajaya went to him. Seeing Sanjaya, Satyaki rushed with a sword in hand, to kill him, when he was stopped by Vyasa who appeared there.
Duryodhana roamed with tears in his eyes. Seeing Sanjaya he asked him who all were alive. Sanjaya said Ashwatthama, Kritavarma, Kripacharya are the ones alive.
Duryodhana said Go tell my father that I have failed. I have not listened to wisdom and now its too late.
Seeing a lake there, Duryodhana sat in the waters of the lake.
Sanjaya was leaving when he met Ashwatthama, Kripacharya and Kritavarma. They asked where Duryodhana was. Sanjaya said he was in the lake. The three went towards the lake.
The Pandavas were wondering where Duryodhana was. They thought he had returned back and sent a messenger. The messenger met Vidura who said he had not seen Duryodhana.
In the lake, Duryodhana began crying. Sometimes he called out to his brothers, sometimes to Karna.
Seeing this condition of Duryodhana, Dhritarashtra and Gandhari could not control their grief.
