In sweet tones, the king addressed hi son. I am amazed to see you being saved every time someone tries to kill you. I have never seen anything like like and would like to know more.
Prahlada said It was Vishnu who was saving him every time.
The asura said Where is this Vishnu? What form does he hold?
Prahlada said He is present in all things. All living and non living things are a manifestation of Vishnu.
Pointing to a pillar, the asura asked Is Vishnu in this too? Prahlada said - Yes.
Angry, the king took his sword and struck the pillar. In the pillar was Vishnu in the form of half human, half lion. The asura saw a human body with the face of a lion. As the daylight receded, this creature started expanding its body. Soon the entire universe was covered by Narasimha - half lion, half man. Narasimha let out a might roar. Picking up the asura, Narasimha placed him on his thigh, and using his nails, tore his body apart.
The creature was angry and terrible to look at. The Gods were scared of approaching him. Only Prahlada approached him and bowed down to him, and asked him to calm down.
Pleased Narasimha said there is no devotee of mine, equal to you. Do not grieve for your father. Your descendants will also be devotees.
Thus Jay Vijaya were relieved of their curse.
