After having traveled around, the horse returned back to Hastinapura.
Yudhistira was given the news that Arjuna had returned back with the horse. Yudhistira asked the messenger to bring Arjuna near him.
Arjuna and Krishna went and bowed down to Yudhistira. Arjuna then bowed down to the sages who had arrived there. He then sat near Yudhistira and told him about his travels.
That day was spent in conversations.
The next day, Yudhistira took his seat in the sacrificial chamber. Dhritarashtra and Vidura sat next to him along with Arjuna. The kings who had come with Arjuna came and bowed down to Yudhistira.
The women along with Pramila all took there places near Gandhari.
Vyasa then asked Yudhistira to get the horse. He asked him to tell Bhima to take a bath and come there. Yudhistira did that, and Bhima came there, after having had his bath. Then horse was then bathed with the waters collected from many holy rivers.
Vyasa then asked Yudhistira to garland the horse. After that Vyasa asked Bhima to pick up a sword and cut off the head of the horse.
The moment Bhima did that, the head of the horse rose towards the sky. Instead of blood, milk began flowing from the body of the horse.
Mayurdhwaja, who had also come with his horse, completed his horse sacrifice there.
After the sacrifice, Krishna took permission from Yudhistira to leave for his kingdom. Along with Rukmini and Devaki, Krishna's mother, Krishna then left for Dwaraka.
